Timing

Instructions ?Shown once on its own screen after the student enters their details, before the timer starts and before they see any questions.

Monitoring

iPads and phones can't reliably use fullscreen, so Standard is recommended for BYOD classes. Tab and app switching is detected the same in both modes.

Question numbering

Example with 5 questions in Part I and 5 in Part II: "Restart" shows Q1–5 then Q1–5 again; "Continue" shows Q1–5 then Q6–10.

Solution paper ?Students photograph their written solutions AFTER submitting the exam — deliberately after, so using the camera doesn't trigger monitoring flags during the test.

Students are prompted right after they submit, when monitoring is already off.

Device lockdown guidance ?Walks students through enabling Guided Access (iPhone/iPad) or Screen Pinning (Android), which genuinely blocks app switching at the OS level. Informational only — students can continue without doing it, and the app cannot verify whether they did.

Anti-cheating ?Randomizing makes it useless for students to share "the answer to #7" — everyone's #7 is different. This works server-side, so it can't be bypassed.

Availability window ?Leave blank for always open. Outside this window students can't start the exam at all.

Each section can have its own timer, question set, and rules. Use "Research mode" for a section where students should be allowed to browse the internet (e.g. a research-essay part).
